We're Joe & Del, "The Wine Couple", and we moved to the county for one reason: the wine! We found many other things here since we've moved (like the food, arts and the friendliness of the people) but we remain committed to our love of the wine!

We hope to have every winery on this site and have the most extensive list of every wine in the county! Search for your favorite wine or winery using the search bar at the top left of this page and feel free to leave comments on the site. Your fellow wine lovers will appreciate the feedback ... ENJOY!

Del Gatto Estates - 2009 Baco

2009 Baco
Dry red wine

Our Baco offers a truly unique and exceptional experience as a full-bodied red. Robust and complex, layers of fruit unravel with each sip. Good mid palate and lingering smokey finish. Aged for 6 months in new American oak, this wine can age for 5 years. If you cannot wait that long, enjoy with steak, lamb, venison, spicy dishes, sharp cheeses and bitter salads. Labelled as Giacomo’s Select because it is our Papa’s favourite!

$18.00

Lacey Estates 2008 Baco Noir

2008 Baco Noir - $20

2010 ARTEVINO BRONZE MEDAL WINNER

Our 2008 Baco Noir has lots of dark fruit on the nose, and raspberry and leather. The palate is smooth velvet fruit forward with a nice balance of wood-to-acid tannins. The wine has a long finish and well balanced. Ontario Wine Diva Patricia Dinsmore describes it as "[b]lacker than SIN – that’s the only way to describe the colour – and the aromas and flavours are equally sinful". Tony Aspler rates this wine an 87 and says it's "fruity and fresh with a lively acidity". Shari Darling (The Sophisticated Wino) of the Peterborough Examiner describes our baco as "funky good...worth stocking up on for cottage weekends and barbecue dining".
